About Bigfoot Surfboards LLC
Bigfoot Surfboards LLC is a family owned company between two families. Bigfoot Surfboards LLC was born when Shawn and Mike, long time friends, both avid wake surfers, spent a summer vacation together with their families on the water. As they shared stories about their wake surfboard adventures, they came up with the idea of creating a brand that combined their love for the sport with fun, Bigfoot-themed designs. They envisioned boards that would not only perform well but also bring joy to riders, with bold, unique designs that would make people proud to show off their boards.
The initial line of boards was designed with entry-level and intermediate surfers in mind, but with plans to expand the brand to offer boards for more advanced riders in the future. The concept took off quickly, and Bigfoot Surfboards LLC was officially launched.
The first step was creating a brand identity. Mike and Shawn designed a simple yet striking logo—a black-and-white circle with a silhouette of a foot in the center, along with the slogan, “Show Your Wild Side.” This logo became the foundation of the brand, and the excitement continued to build. They hired a surfboard supplier and graphic designers to help bring their vision to life, working together to create their flagship board, aptly named "The Bigfoot."
To make each board feel even more unique, Mike and Shawn researched traditional Bigfoot names from around the world. They compiled a list of these names and decided to name each board after a different version of the legendary creature, with distinct designs to match. Their first two boards, “The Bigfoot” and “The Yowie” (named after the Australian version of Bigfoot), were the first to be introduced.
In addition to surfboards, Bigfoot Surfboards LLC offers a range of stylish apparel and merchandise, including T-shirts, so riders can show off their Wild Side even when they're not on the water. The brand is all about fun, adventure, and embracing the spirit of the great outdoors.
Mike
Mike enjoys wake surfing with his family at Grand Lake in Colorado, where his love for the outdoors shines. Growing up in Minnesota, he spent countless hours on the lakes skiing, tubing, and fishing, and today, he still cherishes time spent at the lake, surfing with family and friends. Committed to quality, Mike ensures that every product in our collection—whether it’s a shirt, hoodie, hat, tumbler, blanket, or surfboard—meets the highest standards. Whether he’s in the office perfecting designs or out in nature testing new gear, Mike’s passion for adventure and craftsmanship is at the heart of our brand.
Shawn
Shawn embodies our tagline, "Show Your Wild Side," through his vibrant artistic vision and innovative designs at Bigfoot Surfboards. Growing up in Minnesota, he spent countless weekends outdoors and on the lake, fostering a lifelong passion for adventure. Now residing in Texas, he combines that love with wake surfing, often found testing our products with family and friends on Lake LBJ in Horseshoe Bay Texas.
Kara
Kara, our social media content strategist, is passionate about wake surfing in Colorado. In her free time, she enjoys spending days on the lake with family and friends, soaking up the sun and the joy of boating. Kara thrives on sharing the Bigfoot brand through engaging photos and videos, while connecting with the community online. Her enthusiasm for boating and wake surfing shines through in everything she does, and she's always eager to embrace new adventures and explore fresh ideas.
